Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with ETWRK.

General Questions

What exactly do you do?

We're an IT infrastructure consultancy. That means we help small and medium-sized businesses get their tech set up properly — cloud platforms, email deliverability, security, backups, telecoms, and monitoring. We're not a helpdesk or break-fix service; we focus on the underlying setup so things work reliably in the first place. Retainer clients do get a point of contact for infrastructure-level incidents — but day-to-day user support isn't what we do.

Who do you work with?

We work with small-to-medium UK businesses — typically 5 to 100 people — who need their IT infrastructure sorted properly but don't have a full-time IT team. We're not the right fit for consumers or individuals.

Do I need to be technical to work with you?

No. We explain everything in plain English. You don't need to know what DMARC stands for or how BGP routing works — that's our job. We'll keep you informed without drowning you in jargon.

Pricing & Packages

How much do your services cost?

It depends on what you need. Ongoing support starts from £25/month for simple monitoring through to bespoke retainer arrangements for larger or more complex setups. One-off projects are scoped and priced individually. We offer a free initial consultation so you can get a clear sense of costs before committing to anything.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. We offer a free, no-obligation initial consultation. We'll listen to what you're dealing with, ask a few questions, and let you know whether we can help and roughly what it would involve.

Is there a minimum contract length?

No. We don't believe in locking clients in. Monthly retainers run month-to-month. If you're not getting value, you should be free to leave — and we'd want to know why.

Do you charge for the initial IT audit?

Once you've agreed to work with us, a basic discovery review is included at no extra cost as part of getting started. A formal IT Security Audit & Healthcheck — a structured review of your infrastructure, access controls, and configurations — is a paid engagement, but the cost is credited against any follow-on work.

How We Work

Do you work remotely?

Yes. The vast majority of what we do can be done remotely, and for most clients that's faster and more convenient.

Do you only work with UK businesses?

Yes, currently. We're UK-based and work exclusively with UK businesses. That keeps things straightforward — same timezone, same legal framework, same working practices.

Can you provide ongoing support?

Yes. We offer ongoing retainer arrangements as well as ad-hoc project work. If you want someone keeping an eye on things and available when something comes up, a monthly retainer is usually the right fit.

What's your typical response time?

For critical issues — systems down, security incidents — we aim to respond same business day. For standard queries and non-urgent work, one business day. These are targets, not contractual commitments; specific SLAs can be agreed as part of a retainer arrangement. We set clear expectations upfront so there are no surprises.

Can you work alongside our existing IT team or provider?

Yes. We're used to working alongside in-house IT teams, other MSPs, and freelance IT support. We're not territorial about it — we focus on the areas where we're adding value and work around whatever's already in place.

Technical Details

What cloud platforms do you support?

We primarily work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Other platforms can be supported depending on the specifics — get in touch and we'll let you know.

Do you support Google Workspace and Microsoft 365?

Yes, both. Whether you're on Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or a mix of tools, we can work with your existing setup.

What if we use different tools?

We evaluate each situation on its own merits. If you're using tools or platforms we haven't listed, tell us what you're working with and we'll be straightforward about whether we can help.

Getting Started

What does the getting started process look like?

Usually: a discovery call to understand your situation → a brief audit of your current setup → a clear proposal with scope and pricing → implementation. We try to keep the pre-work light and get to the useful stuff quickly.

What information do you need from us to get started?

A general overview of your current setup and the main things that aren't working well. We'll ask for access credentials and technical details once we've agreed scope — not before.

How quickly can we see results?

Quick wins — fixing email deliverability, identifying obvious security gaps, getting monitoring in place — can often be done within days. Larger infrastructure projects take longer, but we aim to deliver incremental value throughout rather than making you wait for a big reveal.

What if we have no IT setup at all?

That's actually a good place to start — no bad habits to undo. We can help you build a clean, well-structured foundation from the ground up. Greenfield projects are something we enjoy.
